ACCREDITATION, PROGRAM, AND UNIT REVIEWS
Welcome to the University of Central Florida (UCF) program
review process. Program Review examines UCF programs on a periodic
basis to review key performance measures and program information
to determine the “direction” in which the program
is heading and reveal opportunities for “redirection.
In general, programs without separate accreditation will include
a report from an external reviewer. A benefit of the review
process is the “mandated” comprehensive review of
program trend data and information by each unit. This process
is intended to encourage improved management practices and decision-making.
The link to the Program
Review Menu provides the following:
-
purpose of the program review process
-
a 7-year schedule of programs that will be involved in the review process
-
the submission status of the targeted programs
-
sample templates that are used in the review process
A self-study and a department
report template are available for the designated academic program
representative and the department chair. Additional templates
for department chairs, college deans and the external consultant
are also available. Additionally, guidelines for selecting external
consultants and a sample itinerary for the site visit are available.
The OEAS office provides accreditation support
to academic and administrative offices that are preparing self-studies
or preparing for site visits, as well as program reviews and
unit performance reviews. We can assist you in the design and
analysis of surveys,
development and implementation of assessment
plans, collection and analysis of data on comparable schools
or programs, and in the development of a web-based system for
documentation.
